About Amanda Winger-Wilsom

As a horse trainer in the wonderful Woodland California area, Amanda has enjoyed a life surrounded by her passion, horses.

At the tender age of 5, Amanda started to ride and had the fortunate opportunity to become involved and compete in many horse venues including , 4-H Horse Project, High School Rodeo, CSHA, Open, APHA and AQHA.

Amanda has had the privilege to train with some of the top trainers in the industry. Amanda has competed in 6 states including California, Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Ohio at the All American Quarter Horse Congress for several years in a row, bringing home several Top Ten and Finalist in 5 different events, both English and Western. Amanda has also achieved hundreds of points, multiple saddles, money earnings and many "All Around" and Circuit Titles as a Youth, Amateur and Open rider.

Amanda has now taken on the role of being a professional horse trainer, focusing primarily on Quarter Horses and very much enjoys teaching others, their horses and being a part of their success in and out of the show pen. She currently travels with her clients and their horses to many of the American Quarter Horse Shows, throughout California as well as Oregon, Arizona, Utah and Nevada.

What allows Amanda to be such an effective Trainer is her vast background with various breeds, genre's and her extensive riding and show career. Amanda's focus includes Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Western Riding, Trail, Ranch Riding, Performance Halter and Showmanship plus English rail classes, Hunter Under Saddle and English Equitation.

She and her clients have competed at the Silver Dollar Circuit and Level 1 Championships in Las Vegas Nevada, Summer Classic in Medford Oregon, Back 2 Basics at Murieta Equestrian Complex, CAQHEA shows at Brookside,  Gold n Grand Open breed shows at Murieta Equestrain Complex, Arizonia Sun Circuit and The Arizona Nationals, both in Scottsdale plus the QUEAC Quarter Horse Shows in Corning California. Amanda hopes to add The American Quarter Horse Congress, in Ohio and The AQHA World Shows to her resume.

Added to Amanda's resume is past judging of open shows throughout Northern California and IHSA for UC Davis.

Amanda specializes in giving horses a solid foundation, knowing not all work well with the same program and each has a mind of their own. Amanda is always willing to "think outside the box" and is constantly trying to learn and grow as a trainer. Amanda believes in developing each horses own program, keeping in mind that every horse learns at its own pace and not every horse can handle the same amount of training or type of training. "Showing can also put a lot wear and tear on these horses and sometimes we forget they are animals who are athletes, NOT machines. So I strive to keep my horses fresh and happy. We treat these horses like family and take a lot of pride in giving them the best daily attention, veterinarian care, farriers and much more", said Amanda.

After training out of her parents facility/ranch for approximately 11 years, Amanda just recently moved her business, November 1st, 2017, to the wonderful Woodland Stallion Station, just minutes away from home. This allows Amanda to ride in inclement weather as they enjoy having a large, covered arena. "I am so lucky to be able to do for a living what I love to do in life, be surrounded by horses and those who love them."

In June Of 2012, Amanda married Tim Wilson, and together have welcomed 2 beautiful children into their lives,  Alexis , born on May 20th, 2014 and Grant, born August 30th 2015.

Alexis, who turns 4 in May, just competed in her first horse show, Gold n Grand, the largest Open Breed show in the west. After the 3 day event, Alexis took 4th place overall in Freestyle Leadline, winning her first silver buckle.
